2009: The Sunday Salon – Up For Grabs Edition

This has been a nice relaxing weekend around the ol’ homestead, and I have gotten some reading done.  I guess it’s been several Sundays since I’ve written a Salon post!

I finished four books this week, a good total for me. I finished A Few Demons More by Kim Harrison, The Kiss Murder by Mehmet Murat Somer, An Uncommon Reader by Alan Bennett, and The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins.  These were all good, but The Hunger Games was EXCELLENT.  I loved it. I think it actually raised my heartbeat while I was listening to it.  The Uncommon Reader was my book club book this month, and I wondered how long the discussion would go since it’s just a short novella. I shouldn’t have been worried, it was another great discussion! We have one member that really challenges us, and I think that makes things really interesting.

Currently I’m reading The Lost Hours by Karen White for a book tour in a couple of weeks, and have The Masque of the Black Tulip by Lauren Willig going on my iPhone.  Since I finished The Hunger Games on Friday I haven’t started a new audio book, but I think I’m going to listen to Matilda by Roald Dahl and then Drop Shot by Harlan Coben.

I gave away a copy of Jansen Mancheski’s The Chemist last week, and now, right here, I’m going to give away three more books! These I will give to the first people that want them (one per person unless no one else is interested in one you’re interested in). These are ARCs that have been languishing in the pile for several weeks/months and I’ve just lost interest in them. Just post a comment if you’re interested in one, and I’ll gladly mail it to you! The books available are:

Challenge-wise, I finished up a challenge this week! The 2009 Audiobook Challenge is now complete (though I haven’t done my wrap-up post yet)! You can visit my challenges page to see how I’m progressing on my other challenges.

Have a great week of reading!
